Continuous vertical conveyors that provide uninterrupted vertical transport.
Continuous vertical conveyors (CVC) are high-performance vertical transfer systems that carry products between floors in an uninterrupted, continuous flow, working in "C" or "Z" type configurations. Unlike lift-type systems (which operate on an up-and-down principle), CVCs have carrier platforms that operate continuously within a loop. In this way, products entering one end of the system are transferred to other floors without pause, ensuring continuity while the speed of the intralogistics flow is never reduced.
Uninterrupted High Capacity: Because it works on a continuous-loop principle rather than a "start-stop" mechanism, the amount of product carried per unit time (throughput) is much higher.
Zero Waiting Time: Products do not accumulate on the line; the vertical line works like a continuous "fluid," eliminating bottlenecks.
Energy Efficiency: Because continuous motion takes place on a balanced mechanical structure, energy consumption is more stable and economical than in systems that frequently start and stop.
Compact Layout: Despite having a very small footprint, they offer enormous vertical logistics capacity by using the facility's height.
It is indispensable especially in e-commerce logistics centers, parcel distribution facilities and airport baggage automation where the handling of packages, cartons and totes is very intensive. They are also used in multi-floor food, pharmaceutical and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) facilities as vertical "highways" connecting horizontal conveyor lines to one another.
The most critical parameter in the investment process is synchronization capability. The CVC system's speed must be 100% compatible with the speed of the horizontal conveyor feeding it and the exit line receiving the product. The platforms' carrying capacity and "pitch" (the distance between platforms) must be calculated correctly according to the weight of the product to be carried. In addition, for a long system life, care should be taken to ensure the chain or belt drive mechanisms used have wide maintenance intervals, easy part replacement and the highest level of automation safety (sensors and emergency-stop units).
As ACS Intralogistics Solutions, we engineer Continuous Vertical Conveyor solutions that turn the vertical material traffic in your facility from a "waiting room" into a smooth "highway."
For us, a CVC system is not just a vertical carrier; it is an "intralogistics artery" that connects your facility's horizontal conveyor networks, AS/RS units and packaging lines. We design our systems specifically for your facility, integrating the entry-exit points with our conveyors, diverter units and advanced WCS software. With quiet, durable and high-capacity ACS solutions that make your facility's height part of your operational speed, we take your logistics processes to the next dimension.
