Vacuum, mechanical and custom-designed robot grippers suited to different product geometries.
Robot grippers and special end effectors are the critical end units that act as the "hand" of robotic arms and make direct contact with the product. While a robot's main body only provides motion, the end effector determines the robot's function. Depending on the form, sensitivity and weight of the product to be carried and the hygienic conditions of the working environment, there are hundreds of different design options such as vacuum, mechanical (clamping), magnetic or soft (soft robotics).
The right end-effector choice is the factor that 100% determines the success of a robotic system.
Product Safety: It prevents damage by gripping sensitive products (for example eggs, glass or electronic boards) with the most appropriate pressure.
Efficiency: It lowers operational cycle times by gripping even products with complex geometries safely in a single move.
Versatility: It allows the same robot to pack different product types during the day thanks to automatic tool changers.
Adaptation: It provides perfect grip even on irregularly shaped or slippery-surfaced products, preventing disruptions to the process.
Food and Pharma: Hygienic, washable vacuum grippers or silicone-based soft end effectors.
Automotive and Metal: High-pressure mechanical grippers or magnetic pickers that carry parts safely.
E-Commerce and Cargo: Hybrid vacuum-mechanical systems that grip bagged products, irregularly shaped packages or carton-based loads.
Electronics: Sensitive, anti-static (ESD) end effectors for handling small components.
In end-effector design, the most important criteria are the product's grasping points and surface structure. If vacuum systems are to be used, the vacuum power (vacuum-generator performance) and the suitability of the suction-cup material to the product surface must be checked. In mechanical grippers, the gripping force must be adjustable so that it does not deform the product's structure. In addition, if there is product variety on the production line, investing in a "Tool Changer" system that lets the robot automatically switch between different end effectors maximizes operational flexibility.
As ACS Intralogistics Solutions, we go beyond standard robotic solutions, designing and manufacturing highly engineered end effectors tailored to the product you need to carry.
For us, an end effector is not just a part but a "precision mechanism" that understands the product's properties, grips it in the safest way and makes the process error-free. Whether you need to handle a very delicate food product or a ton-heavy automotive part, we optimize the process with end effectors developed specifically for you at the tip of our robotic arms. Using 3D printing (additive manufacturing) and CNC machining techniques, we design the lightest, most durable and most efficient grippers tailored to your facility, perfecting every contact along your intralogistics line.
