Modular & Chain Conveyors

Modular belt and chain conveyor lines for heavy loads and demanding operating conditions.

What Are Modular and Chain Conveyor Systems?

Modular and chain conveyors are systems designed for heavy, demanding or special-hygiene operations where standard PVC or rubber belts fall physically short. Modular conveyors are made of high-strength plastic (PP, POM, PE) parts that interlock like bricks. Chain conveyors, on the other hand, are high-strength industrial mechanisms that carry very heavy loads such as pallets or large-volume products on rows of steel or special plastic chains.

What Are the Key Advantages?

The greatest advantage of these systems is their unmatched durability and easy maintenance. Whereas a standard belt must be replaced entirely when torn, in modular and chain systems only the damaged link or module is removed and replaced with a new one within minutes, bringing operational downtime close to zero. Straight runs, turns, rises and descents can all be provided uninterrupted with a single motor drive as needed. Thanks to their open structure that allows liquid drainage, they can also be washed easily. They deliver flawless performance in extremely hot, cold, humid or chemically exposed environments.

In Which Sectors and Applications Is It Used?

They play a critical role in industries where durability and hygiene are paramount. Because of washability and FDA-approval requirements, modular conveyors are used intensively in food processing (meat, poultry, seafood), bakery, beverage and bottling facilities. Chain conveyors, meanwhile, form the backbone of the production line in logistics distribution centers that handle wooden pallets weighing tons, on automotive assembly lines, and in white-goods, metalworking and heavy-industry facilities.

What Should You Consider When Investing?

In these systems the product's weight, temperature and environmental conditions directly affect material selection. For the food industry, non-bacterial, easy-to-clean and chemical-resistant polyacetal or polypropylene modular belts should be chosen. For heavy industry and pallet handling, high-tractive steel chains and suitably strong chassis designs (stainless steel or powder-coated steel) should be preferred. In addition, where products need to accumulate on the belt, selecting low-friction surface profiles and calculating the correct motor-gearbox combination for heavy loads are of critical importance.

Why ACS Intralogistics Solutions?

As ACS Intralogistics Solutions, we manufacture highly engineered modular and chain conveyor solutions so that you can confidently manage the most demanding loads and the most hygiene-sensitive processes in your facility.

Whether you need a line to work in sub-zero cold-storage rooms or a heavy-duty chain conveyor to carry pallets weighing tons, we design the architecture best suited to your process. We integrate our systems flawlessly with AGV/AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) lines, palletizing robots, automatic stretch-wrapping machines and lift systems. Thanks to our smart automation infrastructure, we enable you to manage the in-plant traffic of heavy and demanding loads to the highest safety standards, without loss and without interruption.
