Platform and heavy-load autonomous vehicles for high-tonnage loads.
Heavy-duty and platform-type AGVs are high-torque autonomous robots specially designed to carry very high-tonnage loads or unusually sized industrial equipment that standard pallet carriers cannot handle. Platform-type models move by taking the load entirely onto their own body (like a "carrier table"), while heavy-duty models have a towing capacity high enough to pull huge steel structures, coils or machine components. These systems are capable of carrying and positioning loads with millimetric precision even on the most demanding production lines.
Unlimited Carrying Capacity: They move loads weighing tons safely, without human error or fatigue.
High Stability: Thanks to their low centers of gravity, they transfer even heavy and unbalanced loads smoothly and safely.
Facility Space Savings: In areas where fixed conveyor lines cannot pass or are impossible to install, they create a flexible and mobile logistics bridge.
Occupational Safety: By fully automating risky heavy-load operations performed with cranes or manual tuggers, they reduce the accident risk to zero.
They play a critical role in all facilities that form the heart of heavy industry. They are indispensable in any heavy-load handling process where the conveyor cannot reach or would be too costly: vehicle-chassis transport in automotive factories, coil and plate transfer in the iron-and-steel industry, heavy machinery manufacturing, shipyards and large-scale logistics centers.
The most important technical issue in a heavy-duty AGV investment is the floor load capacity and "load distribution." The pressure of very high-tonnage loads on the wheels requires a special calculation for the facility's concrete floor. In addition, the system's "navigation" type (laser, SLAM, magnetic or optical) must be chosen according to the facility's environmental conditions (dust, smoke, metallic interference, etc.). Safety is the most critical point in these systems; equipment such as "bumper sensors," "emergency-stop zones" and "person-detection systems" must hold the highest industrial safety certifications.
As ACS Intralogistics Solutions, we design highly engineered heavy-duty AGV solutions that turn even your facility's heaviest loads into an autonomous and smart process.
For us, carrying heavy loads does not just mean a "powerful motor"; it means "timing and precision" that flawlessly manage the entire facility's intralogistics flow. We integrate our heavy-duty AGV fleet with the other conveyor lines, packaging units and WMS system in your facility. With our 3D simulations we determine the robot type best suited to the floor and operational conditions of your facility, building a safe and durable autonomous logistics infrastructure that works with a "zero error" target even for your most demanding loads. With ACS-signed systems, we take your logistics efficiency in heavy industry to a new level.
